Boston's Summer Yoga Scene: Symposium on Yoga Therapy & Research

Today I was catching up on my March issue of Yoga Journal. There's a really interesting article about how Ohio's Cleveland Clinic is the first hospital in the country to hire a full-time yoga therapist and program manager. Pretty cool!

Judi Bar heads up the Lifestyle 180 wellness program, which helps those with chronic illnesses take charge of their health.

She says, “Yoga helps us to practice mindfulness. When we are mindful throughout the day, we make better choices for our health, cope better with stress and focus more on achieving a work-life balance.”

Also, Bar will be speaking here in Boston soon. The International Association of Yoga Therapists' Yoga Symposium on Yoga Therapy and Research will be in Boston for several days in June.

From the information on the websites, it looks like from June 11 -13 the sessions examines yoga research, then June 13 - 16 focus is on yoga therapy. So from June 11 - 16, Boston will be yoga central!

Speaking of Boston being yoga central, since my blog post last year listing free summer yoga classes has been so well received, I've decided to do another post for this year. The research is underway and I hope to have the post up by the time summer rolls around.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
